TaikoArts Midwest's mission is to nurture artistic excellence and deepen and expand the impact of taiko in our communities. Primary Duties:
TaikoArts Midwest revenue sources come from ticket sales, grants, outreach, and donors. The primary responsibility of the Donor Development Specialist is to create and execute a plan to grow our donor base and annual giving amount.

The Donor Development Specialist will:

1.       Develop and implement a donor development plan to support the growth goals of TaikoArts Midwest
a.       Manage a portfolio of current and prospective donors
b.       Evaluate donor data and identify giving prospects and opportunities

2.       Collaborate with the Executive Director to set giving goals
a.       Collaborate on annual giving goals as well as mid-term goals (2-5 years)
b.       Focus on increasing recurring giving (vs. one-time) and major gifts

3.       Launch and manage crowdfunding campaigns for special projects

4.       Conduct annual donor review and assessment with milestone checkpoints throughout the year

5.       Recommend, organize, and plan fundraising events/activities
a.       Create event goals, coordinate event communication, manage digital mailing lists, determine venues, manage invoices, provide information on donors attending, and create reporting on event results compared to goals

6.       Lead relationship management of donors through communications and recognition

7.       Support the Executive Director for other projects or duties as necessary

Minimum Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience
·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·         Strong digital and communication tools and data management skills
·         Strong interpersonal skills to interact with staff, public, artists, organizations, etc.
·         Ability to communicate TaikoArts Midwest’s mission in a compelling way that builds engagement
·         Ability to be proactive and operate independently
·         Strong sense of integrity
·         Ability to work some evening or weekend hours, especially as related to key events
·         PREFERRED: Event management skills
·         PREFERRED: 3-5 years donor development, with an emphasis on individual giving

Employment Details

Hours: Part-time position, flexible 10-20 per week
Salary: $20 per hour
